Tiger Wins US Open in Playoff

Tiger Woods made another dramatic put on the 18th to catch Rocco Mediate and then birdied a sudden-death playoff hole to win the 2008 United States Open at Torrey Pines.

Woods trailed the 45 year-old Mediate by one shot heading to the 18th green in Monday's playoff. But once again Woods drained a long put – this one extending the historic playoff to a 19th hole. There, Mediate missed the fairway into a bunker and Woods made par to win his 14th grand slam title.
